When a former British Diplomat, Kim Darroch was being interviewed on Radio 4 recently he used the phrases ‘over promise and underdeliver’ and ‘under promise and overdeliver’. In the current Covid crisis he believes the present government are too quick to promise things they are unable to deliver. That has certainly been true about testing for Coronavirus. In his diplomatic role his advice to leaders was always to underpromise and overdeliver.

In the Bible, God makes many promises to both individuals and to all mankind. He promises a better world where there is no war, sorrow, disease or famine but where there is plenty for all. That promise is yet to be fulfilled but we can be confident that there is more in store than we can ever imagine.

‘No eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him’ (1 Corinthians 2 v 9)

We trust that God will overdeliver on His promises.
