At the beginning of lockdown we cleared weeds from a corner of our garden in order to create a vegetable patch. We bought seeds and plants from various sources and followed instructions for planting. It all looked very bare. Initially nothing much happened. The potatoes which we left in a cool dark place for a [...]
Whilst gardening recently, I had some thoughts. In the garden, we prune off dead or old growth to allow the plant to utilise its energy more efficiently – a plant or tree putting the majority of its energy into useless leaves or branches, will benefit it little and may even result in the entire plant’s [...]
Many of us found ourselves doing more physical exercise during lockdown. We perhaps had more spare time than usual, took advantage of the glorious weather we’ve been so blessed with, or turned to exercise as a means of mental release and relaxation during these strange and testing times. The Bible tells us that we should [...]
Does anyone tell the truth anymore? Can you honestly say you have never told a lie? People lie for many reasons. Politicians lie to gain votes, lies are told to avoid hurting someone’s feelings, lies are told if you think you can get away with it! Lies can become so well constructed that everyone believes [...]

Matthew 26 vv28-30 “And why do you worry about clothes? Consider how the lilies of the field grow: They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much [...]
It may seem like a distant memory now, but do you recall back in early March the angst gripping the nation over how we would continue to obtain fresh food? Would we be able to continue to feed our families? Indeed, we may still be queueing for our weekly shop whilst preparing ourselves for what [...]

Historically, forms of government have included theocracy, autocracy (such as monarchy), oligarchy, aristocracy and democracy [...]
